The boat crews are spectacular! The restaurant staff always make the day better! The new boat landing at the airport is a noteworthy improvement.

The staff are consistently warm, attentive, and welcoming in a way that feels genuinely sincere. Our villa was immaculately clean. A nightly hot bath with lemon/lime-scented oil was beautifully prepared. The private boat is a highlight — a great luxury to each have our own dive guide. Such a wonderful crew who not only helped us in and out of the water, but rinsed and dried our suits between dives and prepped our masks — they never fogged even once! The food after the first dive and at lunch was better than in the restaurant! Our crew member made suggestions for dishes from different parts of Indonesia — delicious and fascinating — and he and the dive guides gave Indonesian lessons.

Amazing diving in a beautiful location. My dive guide was a charming, delightful person — very funny and intelligent. She has the eyes of a hawk and pointed out many things I would not otherwise have seen, with excellent knowledge of the ocean creatures. The resort is like paradise. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The rooms are good. The food is excellent and plentiful. I will definitely come again.

A very well-run resort — a lot goes on in the background to make meals, boats, and tours run on time. The staff are most welcoming. The dive location is terrific, and you are making a positive contribution to Indonesia.

The resort and the staff are top-notch. We enjoyed our time here more than anywhere else. We didn’t have to do a thing — everything was perfectly planned. From snorkelling gear to food and service, nothing was missing. Our guide was absolutely fantastic — always one step ahead and very friendly. The restaurant team is top-notch — very, very friendly and professional, and we always had great meals. The grounds are beautifully maintained by the gardeners, and the patterns on the paths are simply brilliant.

Exceeded our expectations in every way. We have dived in many places around the world, but we can hardly imagine anywhere being better organised. From the very first moment we felt welcome and perfectly looked after.

A very special thank you to our dive instructor. Her professionalism, her enormous knowledge of marine life, and her incredible eye for macro creatures made every single diving experience unique. The care and attention were absolutely sensational. We especially looked forward to the warm menthol towels after every dive — an absolutely brilliant idea.

The entire resort team was also extraordinarily warm and attentive. From day one we were greeted by name, our personal preferences were immediately noted and lovingly accommodated. This individual and warm care is what makes Wakatobi something truly special.

The resort is beautifully maintained, the bungalows are wonderful, and the food is excellent. We were also particularly impressed by the philosophy behind the resort: the active integration of the local community — from gardeners and craftsmen to chefs and waiters — and the resulting protection of the reefs make diving here not only spectacular but also sustainable and authentic. For us, Wakatobi is absolute world class.

Where to begin — Wakatobi is surreal. It is an experience of a lifetime. From being greeted at the airport the moment you arrive to those precious last minutes of shared farewells, each guest is made to feel extremely special. Every staff member greets you by name with the warmest, genuine, welcoming smile and is attentive throughout your stay. The accommodations are luxurious and spacious, beautifully designed and very clean. Housekeeping does an excellent job of making sure you have all the comfort you need. The dining room and outdoor seating area are beautifully decorated. The food — oh my! A plethora of appetisers are displayed upon walking in — succulent, colourful, perfectly prepared little dishes that look like pieces of art on a plate. Not only are these elegant to look at but each one is tasty. It is like having a party in your mouth, meal after meal, day after day. My husband and I have had the privilege of diving in various seas and oceans around the world, but I can say without hesitation that Indonesia is amazing. Here at Wakatobi you will be amazed at the colours of the corals and the brilliant fish and other marine life that encircle you during every dive. The dive team deserves an award — never have I experienced such well-executed and professional preparations. The dive boats are luxurious, and the dive masters are extremely knowledgeable and will identify marine life throughout the dive. This incredible resort also offers many other activities. The towel-folding class was a delight. The resort nurse got me back on my feet so I could resume diving and snorkelling — thank you! It would take forever to name every amazing staff member we came into contact with during our stay, so please accept a big thank you to all. May we meet again.
