Wakatobi exists for one reason: to offer guests an encounter with one of the world’s last genuinely healthy reef systems, in a setting where the hospitality is as remarkable as the diving. Whether you are underwater or above it, the experience is unhurried, attentive, and unlike anything most guests have found elsewhere.

It’s not uncommon for there to be tears on the last day. Our guests simply don’t want to leave — and many don’t stay gone for long.

Location

Wakatobi sits in the heart of the Coral Triangle in southeastern Sulawesi, Indonesia — one of the most biodiverse marine regions on earth, and among the least disturbed. The remoteness is part of what protects it. Away from boat traffic, coastal development, and the pressures that have degraded reefs elsewhere, Wakatobi’s waters have remained what reefs everywhere once were.

You will find that Wakatobi’s remoteness and its comfort are not in tension. Our accommodations are thoughtfully appointed and restful — a place to return to after a day on the reef that feels as considered as everything else here.

The staff here all very friendly and accommodating. My dive guide was wonderful to dive with. He was attentive and kind and laughed along with our group. This is a beautiful and well-maintained resort that the entire staff should be very proud of and it feels like they are proud to be a part of the resort and it shows.
