A plethora of sites to explore by day boat

We have more than 50 sites that we regularly dive, all accessible by our day boats. Boat rides range from 10 minutes up to a maximum of an hour for a few of the furthest sites.

You can view a complete listing of the sites here.

Comprehensive pre-dive briefings

Before each scheduled dive boat departure, your guide will provide a comprehensive briefing. A sketch of the dive site is displayed, conditions are discussed, and a dive plan is rehearsed. Known marine inhabitants and their locations are explained, along with specific advice for photographers. On arrival at the dive site, your guide will enter first. If conditions are as expected, the ‘pool is open’. Otherwise, your guide will amend the dive plan before giving the OK to enter the water. Boat dives always have trained guides to locate and point out marine life and/or assist divers.

Comfortable surface intervals

Surface intervals are comfortable in our spacious and stable boats. Snacks are served between consecutive boat dives (and before the first dive for those who may have skipped the resort breakfast) as well as drinks such as tea, hot chocolate, and water. Dry fresh towels are also available. For safety purposes, all divers are encouraged to remain well hydrated.

“The resort, staff, and diving are still fabulous. As good as we remembered from our visit in 2016! We noticed a lot less trash floating by during our dives. It is a huge improvement. We expect it to be a result of education of the villagers and better trash management. If that is the case, Congratulations!                  Wakatobi is the best dive resort we’ve ever been to.
