Considerations for guests in wheelchairs
The main entrance doors are 80 cm, the bathroom doors depending on the bungalow 70cm to 80 cm.
There are at least 2 steps up to all rooms, the restaurant, longhouse, and Jetty.
Between the Garden bungalows and the Restaurant or the adjacent beach Bungalows to the Restaurant the sand
paths are sufficiently compressed to allow usage of (an electric) wheel chair. We have as well used some
wooden planks to bridge softer sand.
After the 4 steps up to the bungalow terraces there is a 10 cm step (plank) below the main entrance door to
keep rain water out. Then there is a small separation step in between the bedroom and bathroom to keep the
water in the bathroom.
We just completed shower stalls in the Beach Bungalows which have a glass door and small ~3cm step, and in the
Garden Bungalows a glass brick separation (20 cm high) plus a shower curtain.
The accommodation, which has the least steps is the Villa 3. The Villa is are however the furthest
(about 300 m) away from the restaurant, which should not be a problem with an electric wheel chair. Inside the Villas
there are no steps between the rooms, there are cement paths leading up to the villas (they are situated about
5 m above the rest of the resort), and the entrance (80 cm wide door to villa 3) pebble path could be bridged
with plywood or planks.
That would leave the 1 small step (we could make a small wooden ramp to do the job) up to the villa as
only obstacle to a wheel chair.
Villa 1 is the nearest to the restaurant (~200 m), but has 2 steps to the room instead of 1 as Villa 3.
