Thank you for deciding to confirm your trip on the Pelagian!
For a reservation to be secured, a deposit of 25% of the package price is necessary. The balance is then due
90 days prior to commencement of trip. As we have only limited space available, we have to operate on a
first-pay first-serve basis.
The early payment option: If you choose to pay the full amount due for your trip directly when booking,
you will get a 1% reduction on the balance payment amount for each month ahead of the 90 days before the
trip that you pay. Early payments make planning easier for us and we share the benefits with you.
(Payment sent in for a trip 10 months in the future would get an 8% discount on 75% of the total resort bill).
For a personalized payment breakdown, please contact our friendly staff in the Bali office.
Our preferred mode of payment is international wire transfer (Telegraphic Transfer). If you choose to wire
your payment, please transfer amount due (net of charges) to the following account:

We also accept both VISA and MasterCard for payments but due to Indonesian banking regulations we can only deduct
Indonesian Rupiah and you may therefore experience a slight currency exchange loss. We therefore still recommend
international wire transfers.

If that is not possible, simply supply us with your credit card details and a faxed passport copy with an
authorization confirming the amount you authorize us to deduct.
We will confirm payment by email.
The credit card payment system is like this:
Hotels across Indonesia have an exchange rate and a billing rate. It is up to each individual hotel to set it's
billing rate at the level it chooses.
Some hotels try to avoid credit card payments, so set their billing rate very high to dissuade guests, others
recognize that accepting credit cards is a service and set their rates to cover any banking charges associated
with receiving credit cards. We are charged 3% by our bank to accept credit cards.
For the convenience of our guests, our prices are set in US Dollars For our guests who wish to settle their
resort bill in US Dollar cash, guests pay the price as per their invoice.
For guests who wish to pay in Rupiah (either on Credit Card or in Cash) we use our billing rate to convert the
USD figure invoiced into Rupiah. Our billing rate is set at 3% above the rate our bank offers us - this is as
per our banking costs.
In Indonesia, we are only able to process credit card payments in the National Currency, and we base this rate
on the rate our Indonesian bank offers. Please note that our Indonesian bank (as any nationalist institution
would) sets its rates to favour the national currency, in this case the Indonesia Rupiah.
The day after you pay your bill, when we receive the credit card forms in our Bali office, we process
the payment. The rupiah rate will be out of date when we process the payment as the rupiah tends to
yo-yo around a fair bit. Thus we may take more or less than we should take. (if you are still comparing
this to the US Dollar figure found on your resort bill.)
Next the information is transmitted to your card issuer. Your card issuer will process the payment.
Generally this happens within 48 hours, but this can take up to a week, and in this time the rupiah will
have wobbled some more.
Your card company will also convert the rupiah rate back to dollars so that it can appear on your credit
card statement in a currency that makes sense to you. However the exchange rate here will be one that
favours the dollar. There may also be a charge for using the card in another currency. Some banks levy
a one off charge, others charge a percentage of the figure billed.
Due to the numerous currency conversions, the time lapse, the differences between rates used, at every
step of the way, the card-holder and the retailer stand to lose out.
By signing the credit card authorization form, our guests agree to pay the Rupiah figure on the form,
and the US Dollar figure that they were billed is no longer relevant in the transaction, but can be used
as a guide as to approximately how much they pay.
We offer a service to our guests by accepting credit cards. That service comes with a cost to us and a
risk to the guests due to the fluctuation of the international exchange rate mechanism. Guests are
entitled to settle in cash or by international bank transfer, to avoid that risk, but many choose to
pay by credit card and accept the consequences.
