Wakatobi Dive Resort Honored with PADI Environmental Award

Wakatobi Dive Resort is proud to announce it has been honored with PADI's 2005 Project AWARE Environmental Award. Project AWARE honors outstanding resorts that operate in an environmentally-responsible manner and promote Project AWARE’s philosophy of underwater conservation to their customers and community members each day.

As divers and water enthusiasts, we are all responsible for the future health of the underwater environment. The Environmental Achievement Award recognizes the importance of preserving the local resources we depend on every day and implement solutions through responsible business practices.

To qualify for this prestigious award, Wakatobi Resorts was evaluated on award criteria in the following six areas: 1) Environmental Events, 2) Environmental Education, 3) Responsible Business Practices, 4) Project AWARE Program Support, 5) Public Awareness, 6) Responsible Diving Practices.

Project AWARE Foundation is the dive industry’s leading nonprofit organization conserving underwater environments through education, advocacy and action.
